Rethink Church?

Hello! It's been awhile since i've put up a post, so i figured it was about time. About my posts, to those who think my life is falling apart, it's not. I often ask questions I or others wrestle with. So when you respond, try not to direct you answers at me. Instead I want it to be an open discussion between all of us. sound good? great!
I went to a pastor's seminar with Lennord Sweet tues and wed. It was amazing! Here are my thoughts for today...
Is church working?
Better yet, why do we go to Church? Why do YOU go to church?
It's my understanding that the world is changing. Look in your church. How many are young people? How many are children? We're loosing them and we need to figure out why. But this doesn't mean we need to "bring them to church." Church doesn't save people, Jesus does. So should we bring Jesus to people?
I think church is going to look really different in the next few decades. With technology the way it is and a lack of interest in our "churches" we really need to be rethinking the way we're sharing the gospel. But is chuch really about sharing the gospel or about coming to be fed? I think we need to understand why we go to church in the first place.
When you and some friends get together, hang out, talk about things of God and challenge each other, have you "had church."
Last question... Metaphors in this postmodern era is a crucial way of communication. What is your view of church? if I were to say "church is like...." what would be your response?
