Holidays are awesome!
Hello Friends! At least... that's what I assume... since you all keep coming back and commenting on my blog! hehe
Holidays are awesome!
So far we've visited Wisconson Dells, Busch Gardens, New York, Niagra Falls, and now we're in Windsor Ontario visitng Paul's family. Wisconson Dells was my first rollercoaster. They're actually really fun! Busch Gardens is amazing because it's all in a European theme. It's like Disney land... that big with so much to do! New York was increadible also! You can't understand it until you've been there. When my family or friends told me it was amazing I though (yeah, how great can this be? i've been to Toronto... grew up in Winnipeg) but then I got there and my jaw dropped. There are so many people I'd compare it to after the fireworks at the forks in Winnipeg, 24/7 except all over New York! I love how the cabs honk at everyone and some people try to dart across the road when a car is coming and the driver almost hits them and lays on the horn. The only think I wasn't prepared for was the smell. no one warned me on that one. It smells like Urine and Garbage often. It was very hot and humid so the stench was magnified all the more.
We visited Ground Zero and that was quite emotional. We went up the Empire state building and that was neat. Imagine that the twin towers were even taller than the Empire state building and when they were hit I remember seeing people on TV jumping from the buildings cuz' they couldn't get down. I was very emotional in my heart while on the very tall Empire state building cuz' I couldn't even fathom what those people were going through as they were jumping from the twin towers. To stand and see the pictures of what was and know that i'm standing in a place of sorrow, history, and life changing events was very overwhelming.
Well, I don't want to bore you. I know what it's like to be told of someones adventures but can't really get it cuz' you weren't there.
Thanks everyone for responding to my blogs.
Here are some things we can discuss...
Have any of you ever been to New York? what was your experience like?
Here's my thought provoking question of the day... sorry, I haven't really led up to it but will throw it out there anyways...
When can a pastor be real and transparent, without being see through. For example, there are people who use their blogs to vent or be straight forward about their struggles. At what point can a Pastor be honest and open without losing respect? It there a point? What would you NOT like to know about the pastors in your life? is anything taboo?
Love to hear your thoughts!

Hey Girl, Wow you guys sure went to a lot of places. that’s awesome. my holidays where spent working here in Winnipeg. so much fun.
To be honest I think your thought provoking question is a catch 22,
cuz as much as it would be nice to know about my pastor’s frustrations and struggles I don’t think they need to share it with the world.
I feel that just like how we have close friends who we can share our struggles and issues with. so do pastors,
And I feel its even more important that pastors/people in ministry have that close circle of friends who they can talk open and freely with, and who will hold them accountable when needed to asking those hard questions. The reason I feel its even more important for pastors and others who are involved in ministry to have this closer circle of friends is that the enemy would like us to be isolated and alone so he can strike and kill us. But when we are surround by close friends we are protected
But pastors and people who are leaders in ministry can be real with their struggles and stuff, they just need to use decrement when thinking about sharing. You know what I mean?
What I don’t want to know about the pastors in my life…. I guess anything super personal depending on the relationship I have with them. Like what’s appropriate and not. Its hard to say. So I guess for taboo it would be a depending on how our relationship is and when or why they are telling me it

Hey Wendy,
I want to clarify what you're saying... you think Pastors should be careful what they share because people can't help themselves but judge. So it's better for the pastor to confide in perhaps other pastors or leaders? If i've got that right, that's an interesting concept. Do you think that the same works for Christians, or only those in leadership?
