It's 12:15am and I really should be sleeping. But you know when you get in one of those contemplative moods and its' hard to think of sleep? Yeah, that's about where I am situated right now. Not to mention I'm a night dweller and will pay for this bitterly when my alarm blares at 8am. I know, boo hoo, 8am. Hey, come on now, it's summer...
anyway, just to update you on my life... I've been accepted to RRC into the AEIP (American Sign Language/English Interpreter Program). It's a 3 year program and i'm really excited about it. All the doors have opened and it's going to be a great time. I'll also be broke so if you want to contribute to the Paul and Jenn poor fund... just let me know haha.
I've been thinking a lot lately about church and God. Weird eh? A pastor thinking about church and God... hehe... but really. Do you ever find that church isn't a place you'd bring your friends? My idea of church is being a part of a community that will help each other out and not be afraid to love and correct each other. I get tired of walking on eggshells. Do you? A church that loves to get together and worship God. A church that allows time for praying for each other and exploring new ways to worship God. A church that isn't afraid to be who they are. And a church that loves to find ways to share Jesus with those they are in relationship with.
What do you love about your church (church Community included)?
What kind of church do you envision? Are you there yet?
If you're from an older generation please share your thoughts, I'm eager to hear your ideas as well.
thoughts?

I think that a church should be one that lets you be who you are. We are all sinners... Every single one of us. A church should accept that. A church should not force us to be who we are not, should not mold us into who they want they want us to be.

Hey reese mars,
thanks for your comment. I agree with what you said. I was wondering though if you would elaborate. Let's say there is a church that lets you be who you are... but they only sing hymns and never have any community. Is that acceptable?

Hey Jenn,
I have alot of feelings when it comes to my church, right now I love my Church b/c I do, there is some things I see that I wish I didnt. My envision for a church... my church is that everyone has a passion for GOd (they dont just go through the motions) and uses their gifts/talents within and out in the community. And that freedom is on the church not bondage. so that the gifts of the spirit and worship can be done without extra feelings of fear and hindrances. but ya the only place I see this kinda of Chruch is the one I go to here in moose jaw for school. its awesome all that is here, and more, even what you where talking about Jenn. but ya I dont really know what the Church would be like that I envision fully, but at home i know its not there. Here in Moose Juice its great

Jenn,
Wonderful passion you have there. I love it. I too wish that church were perfectly like what you describe. There is a day coming when it will be. In the meantime, that is the goal that we strive for. I have experienced wonderful times when church was that, but I have also experienced the other. The Bible doesn't say for no reason, "bear with one another." Learning to love each other is learning to live as God wants us to live and it is not a finished task. Your passion encourages me. Keep on working and living in that direction.
Very interested in your continuing at RRC. When do you start?
